Engaging parents
Although parents are not directly responsible for designing new teaching content, they can promote alterations, offer feedback, and provide valuable insights into the curriculum. Parents can act from the bottom up, or through governance structures.
How to engage parents?
- Check the scope of their action. Parents can organise themselves within a single class, for the whole school, or on an inter-school or even regional or national level.
- Check their potential impact. Parents can be included as stakeholders in the school structure, manage everyday school affairs, advise on policies, or form associations.
