Factors in participation in governance structures
Participation in governance can be supported or hindered by a number of different factors. These include:
- diverse stakeholders (e.g. different capacities or approaches of all actors involved)
- political context (e.g. the government’s desire to support civic action)
- policy influence (e.g. the degree of an actual impact on the policy)
- support for grassroot innovation (e.g. institutional support in implementation or expansion)
